Prior to the invasion of the Northmen, four small cities in the far west of the Western Kingdom had been squabbling and warring among themselves, at times brutally, for many generations. There was no single beligerent, for wicked deeds and utter mistrust pervaded all four. During the invasion of Northmen, one of the four was completely pillaged, then several weeks later another city. As the citizens fled their burning cities, a great sage named Tammothes entered the neighboring hamlet bearing a flag of truce. In that hour, pride was mastered and words of friendship and resilience were made. As the Northmen swarmed in and the battle raged, a large company of men from the fourth city appeared, unlooked for.
Thus, the Four beat back the Northmen. Following the battle, they swore oaths of friendship and protection, for the Northmen were vicious and they saw in each other much resemblance and kinship...thus formed a powerful kingdom. The newly named Four Realm throve for several years, until eventually the mighty Western Kingdom itself fell and the Northmen hordes closed in around them. A decade of fighting wore their Four Realm down to a single fortified town, which was then sieged beyond hope. Though most died in the siege, several hundred escaped in a renown outbreak, hacking their way to the cover of forest over a mile from the city walls. Many of them died in the expanses of the woods, from disease, the Northmen, and from starvation, but they slowly migrated Eastward. After many generations in the safety of the East, members of the Four have multiplied, yet their culture and history has diminished as they mingle with the population of the Eastern Kingdom. Ancestors of the Four form close bonds and are valiant fighters. How to describe a guildmember: Social
